Our Cultural Awareness Workshop is a guided space to slow down, listen deeply, and really see the people around you. Together, we unpack how culture shapes our values, communication styles, and everyday assumptions-often in ways we don't notice until something goes wrong.
We keep the session active and conversational. You'll move through small-group discussions, identity mapping, and real-life scenarios drawn from classrooms, nonprofits, and community groups in Oregon / California. Instead of a lecture on "dos and don'ts," we explore how power, history, and lived experience show up in the room, and what that means for how we welcome, include, and support one another.
By the end, participants will: - Recognize how their own cultural background influences expectations and reactions - Understand key concepts like cultural humility, intersectionality, and microaggressions in plain language - Practice responding when someone feels unseen, stereotyped, or excluded - Gain confidence initiating conversations about culture without fear of "saying it wrong"
This workshop works well for mixed groups-staff and volunteers, educators and support teams, board members and community partners. We can host it virtually or in person, and we regularly adjust timing from a focused 90-minute session to a half day, depending on your needs.
If you're tired of checkbox diversity talks and want a learning space that is honest, compassionate, and practical, this workshop is for you. You'll leave with shared language, deeper understanding across differences, and concrete next steps you can bring back to your organization, classroom, or community circle.
Share your questions or ideas and we will respond with thoughtful, practical next steps to support your multicultural education, workshops, trainings, or community projects across Oregon and California.
